Bought a house! With a side entry garage! My wife can’t figure out how to get her Sienna in or out without a 12-point turn. I’m laughing now, but this is going to be a pain in the ass

Congrats!

My wife/I bought a house almost three years ago with a detached two car garage facing 90 degrees from the where the house faces (two separate garage doors) and it took my a bit to figure out how to maneuver her Fusion (now Subie Crosstrek) in/out of the garage. You guys will get it eventually! Have fun in the new digs!

At our last apartment in Chicago we had a drive through garage (garage doors on front and back) with open parking behind it. The problem was it butted right up to the alley, and the building across from us in the alley, built right to the alley as well. Our garage could only be entered by backing into it, and even then it was very tight (100 year old garage). I personally broke two mirrors on my LR3 trying to back in at first. But by the end of our lease even my wife could back my Land Cruiser 100 into it without any problems.

Congrats! There’s nothing like a tight garage for honing your parking skillz...

Best of luck with your wife and the garage.

Thankfully my wife hasn't hit the garage yet. Although she has hit the mailbox twice. Still trying to figure out how she managed to do it.
